Chia Seed and Spirulina Doughnuts

Ingredients:

Doughnuts

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 90g almond flour
  • 2 tsp spirulina powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 50g coconut sugar
  • 65g warm almond milk
  • 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze

  • 95g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp warm almond milk
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp spirulina + 1/3 tsp spirulina

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 185ºC.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients for the doughnuts together.
  3. In another bowl mix the coconut oil, almond milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the chia seeds and the water to the wet mixture.
  5. Then add all the wet ingredients to the dry mixture.
  6. Fill the doughnut mould with the dough.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, make the glaze.
  9. Mix all the glaze ingredients together in a bowl.
  10. Add the glaze to the baked doughnuts.

TIP: Add chopped pistachios or powdered sugar for decoration.
