Chia Seed and Spirulina Doughnuts
Ingredients:
Doughnuts
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 3 tbsp water
- 90g almond flour
- 2 tsp spirulina powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 50g coconut sugar
- 65g warm almond milk
- 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
- 95g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp warm almond milk
- 1/8 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp spirulina + 1/3 tsp spirulina
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 185ºC.
- Mix all the dry ingredients for the doughnuts together.
- In another bowl mix the coconut oil, almond milk and vanilla extract.
- Add the chia seeds and the water to the wet mixture.
- Then add all the wet ingredients to the dry mixture.
- Fill the doughnut mould with the dough.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the glaze.
- Mix all the glaze ingredients together in a bowl.
- Add the glaze to the baked doughnuts.
TIP: Add chopped pistachios or powdered sugar for decoration.
